The Communications Group of the Department of Signal Theory and Communications is a consolidated group, whose members have jointly participated in research activities since the first members joined the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in 1998. The research activities of this group are focused in the following research lines:

  • Multiantenna systems (MIMO and massive MIMO)
  • Multicarrier modulation, OFDM and variations (for NB-IoT, 5G, …)
  • Analysis, detection and signal inhibition
  • Coordinated transmission and interference cancellation (e.g. for small cells)
  • Random access and radio resource management (Iot, Broadcast/Multicast)

We work in the application of these techniques to wireless networks including WLAN, WMAN, next generation mobile systems, satellite communications and visible light (VLC, LiFi)
